VTN has leveraged the power of this new technology to manage and share civil engineering data with the entire project design team. VTN is proud to be partnered with U.S. CAD, one of the leaders when it comes to BIM implementation with Architects using Revit Architecture; Structural Engineers using Revit Structure, MEP Consultants using Revit MEP, and Civil Engineers using Autodesk Civil 3D. Being a valued customer of Autodesk, VTN has been honored to speak at a number of their events such as One Team Conference (OTC), and BIM for Owners.
VTN understands the importance and impacts of the design and construction process. Building Information Models are becoming a key for LEED certification, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). MODELING TYPES
- 2D = (LINE WORK) Base line work with no intelligence modeling
- 3D = (MODEL) Is the process of developing a mathematical representation of any three-dimensional surface of object
- 4D = (Time) The 4D model enables project teams to explore and rapidly communicate several “what if” scenario alternatives, to coordinate the work of contractors, subcontractors and owner operations, and to optimize project performance before actual project execution. It reduces the need for physical mock-ups, saves time in layout and construction, and reduces field rework hours.
- 5D = (COST) Five-dimensional building information model (BIM) software. This evolution
adds into the planning process the crucial factor of cost.
VISUALIZATION SERVICES
VTN uses the latest techniques and software to design and construct their civil engineering project. With the enhancements of civil engineering software VTN has found ways to tie 3D civil engineering modeling to Visualization and Simulation for their clients projects.
Visualization – Merges 2D and 3D design ideas into real world realistic 3D designs that can be viewed in multiple angles above and below ground.
Simulation – adds interactive drive-through or fly over capabilities to the visualization, allowing the designer to understand how driving the road or seeing the site would look if built.
Equipped with such information, the designer can detect and address design and safety issues prior the road being built, thus significantly shortening the road design process, while assuring highest quality and compliant results.
Simulations should be used as early as possible in the design process to identify and address any challenges. 3D Simulations assist in highlighting, among others.
