Job Openings

VTN is seeking Engineers and CAD Designers with experience in Flood Control, Traffic and Transportation, Utilities, and Land Development disciplines. The following positions are currently available: 

  • Staff Engineer

    Minimum of 2 years' experience

    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

    Engineering-in-training certification

    Civil 3D and/or MicroStation & InRoads equivalent experience

  • Civil Engineer Intern

    Junior or Senior level student in Civil Engineering Program preferred

    Classes in transportation, water resources, and AutoCAD completed

    Ability to work 14-20 hours per week

  • CAD Drafter

    High School diploma or equivalent. Trade school or college level courses in CAD drafting and a basic understanding of geometry and trigonometry are required. A degree in the engineering or surveying field may be substituted for these requirements

    A working knowledge of Civil 3D and/or MicroStation & InRoads equivalent CAD software is preferred

    Responsibilities include setting up sheet drawings, stylizing and labeling Civil 3D features per standards and addressing instructions and comments from CAD designers, engineers, and clients to produce hardcopy and digital improvement plans for submittal

VTN Has the Following Surveying Positions Available: 

  • Field Survey Technician

    High School diploma or equivalent

    Follow instructions received from Party Chief and/or Senior Field Technicians

    Accurately and correctly operate survey instruments and other equipment to complete assigned projects

  • Field Survey Chief

    Minimum of 3 years’ experience as field survey chief.

    Responsibilities include managing field survey crew for the construction staking and verification of roadway and bridge projects, residential development, and commercial sites.

  • Survey Mapping Technician

    LSIT/PLS Certification Preferred but not required

    Knowledge in software such as AutoCAD Civil3D

    Be able to produce survey maps and legal descriptions

    Knowledge in boundary resolution techniques and practices
